When I was younger I spent a lot of time and money drinking alcohol in an unhealthy way. It took me a long time to realize how much it was hurting me and even after that it took a long time to realize just how much I was letting alcohol into my life. Alcohol was making me unhealthy mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally. I had to decide that I wanted to get better and give it up and put it behind me. I had to start keeping track of exactly how much I was drinking to realize the scope of the problem. I had gotten deep into very bitter beers and to help quit I switched to seltzers. It was like going from smoking to vaping. Today a hoppy beer is almost unbearably bitter. My taste buds had been slowly acclimated to flavors that are not naturally compelling. The first step to quitting my drinking habit was keeping track of how much I was drinking and how often and so I built this tool. I hope that it can help other people quit their unhealthy drinking habits. Once you decide that you want to get better and start taking action to make that happen things seem to become easier. You may also want to consider tracking your soda pop consumption. When I was trying to quit alcohol my soda pop drinking increased and that was not healthy.
